The ABT Audi SQ8 packs 150hp more than the factory version, resulting in a 0-62 mph time of only 3.8 seconds and a 168 mph top speed.
If you have an Audi SQ8 in your garage, you’re probably more than happy with the performance it provides. However, some gearheads always ask for more, whether in performance, functionality, or visual appeal.
Thankfully, ABT Sportsline has something to offer those picky customers. The German aftermarket tuning company, best known for its work on Audi and other VW Group vehicles, has announced performance and cosmetic enhancement kit for the rakish SQ8.
The main component of this upgrade kit is ABT’s high-tech Engine Control Unit, enabling the SQ8’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine to belt out a hefty 650hp (+150hp) and 850Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque (+80Nm (59 lb-ft)). The power boost results in a 0.3 seconds improvement in the SUV’s 0-60 mph sprint time, which is now 3.8 seconds. Moreover, the top speed goes up from 155 mph (250 km/h) to 168 mph (270 km/h). With these figures, the SQ8 stands in line with the RSQ8 in straight-line performance.
The ABT SQ8 also sports a revamped suspension courtesy of the ABT Level Control Unit. This module provides two separate modes for adjustment—the Comfort-Level, which drops ground height by 25 mm, and the Dynamic-Level, which does it by 15 mm.
Aside from the performance upgrades, ABT also offers an aero customization kit that includes a front skirt add-on, a roof spoiler, and a rear skirt insert. Furthermore, a set of 23-inch GR23 sports rims, which customers can have in gloss black or matte black finish, complete the list of additional equipment.
The complete tuning package consisting of the performance upgrade and exterior add-ons is available for purchase in Germany for €22,900 (plus kit installation and paint job charges of €3455).
Customers can also buy the ABT SQ8 as a complete vehicle for €130,795, which is €27095 costlier than the factory model, saving your time buying the SUV and the upgrade kit separately.
