The Brabus 800 weighs 5732lbs, yet it can sprint from 0-62mph in only 3.8 seconds, all while providing the passengers with ultimate luxury.
When it comes to the very best aftermarket tuning companies for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the name Brabus is undoubtedly the first that comes to mind. And why shouldn’t they? After AMG, Brabus is without a doubt the most recognizable name in the tuning game, whose magic brings the performance of Mercedes’ most premium models to new heights. Consider the Brabus 800 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, the German tuning firm’s latest take on a flagship Mercedes SUV that performs as sinisterly as it looks on the outside.

Brabus’ most defining revision comes in the form of its performance upgrade kit. In the case of this GLS 63, it’s the company’s PowerXtra B40S-800 module that drags out a whopping 789hp and earth-shattering 1,000Nm (737lb-ft) of max torque out of the SUV’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, a 185hp and 150Nm improvement over the factory model. As a result, the 0-62mph sprint time is now 3.8 seconds (0.4 seconds quicker) on the way to a top speed of 174mph (280km/h)—impressive numbers for a 5732lbs (2600kg) vehicle.
However, Brabus didn’t stop there. The Brabus 800 also features cosmetic revisions, like a blacked-out exterior and subtle carbon-fiber treatment for the new Brabus front spoiler, grille-mounted air inlets, and the wide air dams on either side of the front bumper. Meanwhile, carbon-fiber components at the back include a Brabus rear diffuser and inserts for the quad exhaust tips. Finally, the red signature stripes on the radiator grille and the illuminated Brabus badge in the middle serve to identify the GLS 63 as a Brabus vehicle.

Brabus has also revamped the SUV’s Airmatic suspension setup for improved agility and employed a new set of 24-inch Monoblock forged wheels wrapped in high-performance Continental tires.
Furthermore, the cabin flaunts plush black leather upholstery and grey stitching with Brabus Arrow Wave quilted pattern. Exposed carbon fiber elements and red trim accents are also present throughout the interior.
Overall, the Brabus 800 seems to be the perfect SUV for customers that want presence, opulence, and performance in one package.
