Meet the Sir Class, a 186-mph Mercedes-AMG G63 honoring Lewis Hamilton’s incredible F1 career.
Lewis Hamilton’s time with Mercedes-AMG Petronas may be coming to an end, but his legacy with the team is far from forgotten. To honor his incredible career, the German tuning company HOF has unveiled a special tribute SUV called the “Sir Class,” based on the Mercedes-AMG G63. It’s an impressive mix of power, performance, and style, perfectly suited to celebrate Hamilton’s F1 achievements.
The Sir Class is no ordinary G-Wagon. HOF took the factory 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and gave it a complete overhaul. With new aluminum pistons, stronger connecting rods, re-engineered turbos, and a high-flow fuel system, the Sir Class now delivers a jaw-dropping 1,048 horsepower and 959 lb-ft of torque. That’s nearly double the stock G63’s output. This powerhouse can hit 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph. Yes, a 5,800-pound SUV going that fast is as wild as it sounds.
Visually, the Sir Class takes inspiration from Hamilton’s Formula 1 career. The SUV sports a custom carbon fiber body kit, complete with a vented hood and aerodynamic touches. Its striking paint job mirrors the colors of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, with a silver-to-black fade and accents in Petronas Blue. Even the 23-inch wheels get a dose of teal, tying the design together. Inside, the tribute continues with racing bucket seats, a “Starry Sky Ceiling,” and a unique square-shaped steering wheel inspired by those used in F1 cars.
HOF didn’t stop at performance and design. They added practical upgrades to handle the massive power, including carbon-ceramic brakes and lowered suspension for improved handling. The Sir Class is also equipped with all the luxury touches you’d expect in a high-end SUV, like leather and Alcantara finishes and an embroidered “1,048” on the headrests—a constant reminder of this beast’s horsepower.
The Sir Class made its public debut at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Hamilton’s final race with Mercedes-AMG. It’s fitting, as Yas Marina Circuit has been both a place of triumph and heartbreak for the seven-time world champion. Only 11 units of the Sir Class will be produced, symbolizing Hamilton’s 11 seasons with Mercedes-AMG. Each one comes with a hefty price tag starting at $690,000, making it a true collector’s item for die-hard fans.
While Hamilton’s next chapter with Ferrari will undoubtedly be exciting, the Sir Class ensures his incredible journey with Mercedes is celebrated in style.
