Manhart puts its hands on the M5 CS, giving it more power than most supercars, along with handling and cosmetic improvements.
The BMW M5 CS is a unique sports sedan and the most powerful in the M series, with an output of 635 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. However, Manhart thought that wasn’t enough and decided to spice things up. The tuner’s improvements bumped the 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbocharged V8 to 788 hp and 690 lb-ft (935 Nm).
To accomplish the power upgrade, Manhart didn’t only flash the ECU. For starters, it installed an in-house carbon air intake and a special cat-back exhaust system with valve control and 102-mm tailpipes for the engine to breathe better. Moreover, the MH5 GTR comes with the MHtronik Powerbox, which meddles with the ECU and is standard to most Manhart-tuned cars.
But the tuner didn’t stop at the engine and also upgraded the MH5 GTR’s suspension with a height-adjustable spring kit by KW Suspensions. Customers can also option Variant 4 coilovers from KW Suspensions, which lower the ride height and improve the handling but keep the ride smooth.
Manhart accompanied the lower stance with its own Y-spoke 21-inch silk matte black wheels or ten-spoke 21-inch alloys with a cool silver-gray matte finish. However, customers can opt for any other color. The wheels measure 21×9 at the front and 21×10.5 at the rear and are wrapped in 275/30 ZR21 front and 295/30 ZR21 rear Michelin tires. Manhart didn’t change the brakes on the M5 CS, but it offers upgrades upon customer request.
The MH5 GTR features a classic dark green tone outside and adds a special touch of decorative stripes and letterings, along with gray accentuations. But you already guessed it at this point — the color options are limitless. Meanwhile, the cabin remains untouched, apart from new floor mats with the tuner’s logo.
For now, Manhart produced only two MH5 GTRs, but nothing will stop you from getting the same upgrades on your M5 CS. Manhart didn’t disclose pricing, but don’t expect the tune to be cheap.
