Inspired by military vehicles, the new VRARVA Mars body kit with a suspension lift by Kuhl produces the most rugged Toyota RAV4 ever.
The Toyota RAV4 isn’t the mildest crossover out there, but it’s not too tough, either. Thus, Japanese tuner Kuhl took on the challenge to make it more aggressive. The result is a battle-ready RAV4 with a muscular design and higher off-road prowess.
Kuhl showcased the “VRARVA Mars” body kit at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2023, which is the main attraction. One look at the tuned RAV4, and anyone would understand — the front end is almost unrecognizable. There is a new grille, the bumper gets painted black, and the hood is sculpted. Add the wide fenders and the new bonnet to the list, and it is easy to see why Kuhl’s RAV4 looks combative and off-road ready.
The rear end also gets a bunch of modifications. The wide rear quarter panels give it a more muscular appearance and neatly integrate with the rear spoiler and bumper. Kuhl also added some questionable cladding on the sides, which might be going too far. Still, Kuhl desired to create a RAV4 that demanded attention, and it largely succeeded.
However, the tuner didn’t stop there — it also added a lifted suspension and 17-inch VRARVA wheels with Dunlop Grantrek AT5 all-terrain tires. The modifications certainly make the RAV4 a more capable off-road machine, but the best-selling crossover still misses other off-roading bits, such as a locking differential.
As for the pricing, Kuhl offers the 12-piece body kit for ~$16,600, including tax and installation charge, as per current exchange rates. Interested in buying a complete piece? Then, Kuhl places an approximate price of $33,200 for an FWD model. That’s almost the same as the RAV4, and you could buy a Land Cruiser for that money. Still, it won’t demand as much attention as Kuhl’s RAV4.
