The Lyriq’s 33-inch OLED display is massive!
All automakers aim to push the boundaries to improve premium products’ driving experience, and Cadillac is no exception. The automaker’s first venture into the EV segment was bound to be a major one from the start, and now, Cadillac has added another jewel to its upcoming Lyriq.
Official reports suggest that the electric SUV will feature a 33-inch OLED display with a plethora of customizations at the user’s fingertips. Marketed as a display with the “highest pixel density available in the automotive industry today,” the automaker claims that it would be capable of displaying more than a billion colors!
In the quest to achieve quality beyond the automotive industry’s realms, Cadillac has partnered up with Territory Studio and Rightpoint, two companies specializing in developing such products and related software. In fact, Territory Studio has worked in Hollywood blockbusters like Ready Player One, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Martian.
User-interface and improved functionality seems to be at the heart of the whole project. Reportedly, the Lyriq’s 33-inch OLED screen would allow users to choose their preferred theme and layout, creating a unique user experience. Accompanying the ease of use will, of course, be a mesmerizing display covering more than half of the whole dashboard.
It isn’t the first time we see a concept of this kind, and it surely won’t be the last. A screen lighting up the whole dashboard with tons of features and controls is really impressive. Mercedes was the first to unveil one, and we expect more automakers to follow suit, with similar offerings in the future.
That being said, the Lyriq might take more than a year to finally arrive in the market. However, if you wish to see the 33-inch OLED display sooner, then CES 2021 is the place you’re looking for.
