The legendary Ford Bronco marks the return of the iconic brand for the first time since it was shelved back in 1996. If you walk around the showroom of any major auto manufacturer these days, you will notice that most spots are taken by monotonous sedans and SUVs. Luckily, the 2021 Bronco is here to save the day!
The all-new Bronco comes up with a classic two-door and the first-ever four-door 4X4 versions. Even though it will only arrive in dealerships around spring 2021, Ford has already taken the covers off the 2021 Bronco SUV family. “We created the Bronco family to elevate every aspect of off-road adventure and equipped them with class-leading chassis hardware, drivetrain, and exclusive technologies to raise the bar in the rugged 4×4 segment and take people further into the wild”, said Jim Farley, Ford chief operating officer. “They are built with the toughness of an F-Series truck and performance spirit of Mustang – and come wrapped in one of the most stunning and functional off-road design that is true to the original Bronco design DNA”.
The Bronco’s advanced four-wheel-drive technology is at the core of its off-road capabilities, and at the heart of it all is Bronco’s exclusive Terrain Management System with G.O.A.T. Modes that is designed to help the drivers better navigate any type of terrain. It comes with a software that will power the 8.0- or 12.0-inch touchscreen that’s embedded in the middle of the Bronco’s dashboard. It comes standard with 17-inch Beadlock-capable wheels and huge 35-inch mud-terrain tires. The base two-door Bronco starts at just under $30,000, the model comes with a standard three-section roof system – left and right front sections and a rear section – molded in color and an available premium painted modular top with four sections that add a removable panel over the rear seats and cargo area. If you upgrade to upper trims it gets expensive quickly. Four-door models have four removable roof sections – left and right front panels, a full-width center panel, and a rear section. The new Ford Bronco SUVs will be available in two powertrain choices. The gasoline 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which is projected to produce 310 horsepower and 400 lb.- ft. of torque, while the 2.3 liters EcoBoost is targeted to deliver four-cylinder torque of 310lb.- ft. with an expected 270 horsepower. Both the two- and four-door models are rated to tow 3500 pounds—the same as the Wrangler.
Most importantly, the 2021 Bronco has forward-collision warning available and automated emergency braking also, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Last but not the least blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available for the safety of the driver. The infotainment system supports a host of modern infotainment features that include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. Ford provides a limited warranty of 3 years and a powertrain warranty of 5 years. However, it lacks the complimentary scheduled maintenance.
