The Volvo S60 Black Edition looks quite menacing with those black details, though it didn’t receive any upgrades under the skin.
It looks like Volvo doesn’t want to miss on the hype of special black trims, introducing the S6 Black Edition in the US. As a result, Volvo’s mid-size sedan looks more elegant and sportier without losing the Scandinavian minimalism. Volvo has a limited production of this black beauty to just 450 units to add a dash of exclusivity to the model.
The S60 Black Edition features standard metallic paint and gloss-black dipped grille, badge, and grille slash. Meanwhile, adding to the sporty look, the sedan comes with exclusive high gloss-black 19-inch wheels.
Swedes went crazy to make this car more villainy, as it also has black windows, black painted side-view mirrors, and even the exhaust pipes are darker to live up to its murdered all-black theme. However, the appearance was the main focus for the S60 Black Edition, meaning it features the same 415-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid powerhouse.
The S60 Black Edition comes in two exterior colors, Onyx Black Metallic and the Crystal White Metallic, which is available on all S60 variants.
Designed at California’s Volvo US design studio, the S60 Black Edition was built specifically for the US. It came into flesh within a remarkably short time, with the first study conceived just 13 months ago. The design was so striking that the Volvo executives fell in love when they visited the US and immediately planned production. And for people to get their hands on cars faster, Volvo eliminated the slow-running regular design approval process.
This limited-edition Swedish evil on wheels starts at less than $40,000 with an extra $700 to get this special treatment on the S60 Momentum, the R Design, and Recharge (PHEV) models. People willing to have one should call their nearest dealer right away before all production units are reserved.
