McLaren Sabre is a US-Market Exclusive with 824 HP

McLaren’s MSO division created its most hardcore supercar to date, the 824 horsepower USDM-only Sabre.

When it comes to cool European cars, the United States hasn’t had the best of times, mainly due to import duties that cut manufacturers’ profits. However, McLaren breaks that stigma with their latest offering – a bespoke supercar available exclusively on American soil.

The Sabre has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 churning out an insane 824 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, with a top speed of 218 mph. This makes the Sabre the fastest 2-seater McLaren ever made. Only 15 Sabres will be made, all of which will be sold via McLaren Beverly Hills in California.

McLaren’s upcoming supercar also happens to be the most powerful it produced without any electric motor assist. The Elva previously held the title, McLaren’s answer to the SP2 Monza, with 804 horsepower. The Sabre also looks like the child of the McLaren Speedtail and the Senna GTR, with an immersive glass roof, split side-windows, a long rear end, and a “whale-tail” spoiler.

McLaren took the car’s bespoke nature to another level when their racing division, McLaren’s Special Operations or MSO, allowed customers to drive the pre-production development version, taking inputs to design and customize the car.

Unfortunately, McLaren has not revealed any pricing details, yet. However, with the fastest non-hybrid two-seater McLaren title and a 15-unit production limit, we expect it to go over $1 million.
