The X7 now features 23-inch alloy wheels and a tuned engine.
Horst Lumma and his company Lumma Design have become synonymous with widebody kits. The legendary German tuner has been working on some serious modifications for many popular vehicles, mostly SUVs. In recent years, Lumma has brought some of the most radical Audis, Range Rovers, and AMGs out there, cementing three decades in the third-party tuning market.
Lumma Design has continued the tradition with the launch of its newest venture, a body kit and engine tune for the popular full-size luxury SUV from Münich, the BMW X7. In stock configuration, the X7 base model xDrive 40i has a 3-liter straight-six putting out 335 horsepower through an 8-speed auto to all the 4 wheels.
Right at the top end, the M50i has BMW’s flagship 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 523 horsepower mated with an 8-speed auto and all-wheel drive. The X7 M50i already looks like a beast with imposing dimensions, 21-inch wheels, and a massive front grille.
However, Lumma Design takes BMW’s design a step further. The tuner sets off with the exterior, starting with a muscular bespoke hood and an aggressive front splitter. The side skirts are even more pronounced, and the SUV now sits on massive 23-inch wheels sporting red or white accents. Of course, there are Lumma’s beautifully integrated and enlarged fender flares for extra muscle. The rear features a new roof-mounted spoiler and a bigger diffuser featuring stainless-steel quad-exhaust pipes.
The engine tune done by Lumma Design will bump up the power of the V8 to a monstrous 680 horsepower. Lumma Design also says that customers can order their own preferences for their body kits. As for pricing, the company has not revealed any details, but expect the kit not to be cheap by any means.
