Ken Block to Attack Pikes Peak in a Savage 1,400-HP Porsche 911 ‘Hoonipigasus’

Famous Gymkhana stunt driver and rally veteran, Ken Block, will attack the legendary Pikes Peak in an insane AWD 1,400 HP Porsche 911 Hoonipigasus!

If you’ve ever come across Pikes Peak, you know that it’s not for the faint-hearted. It is the arena for one of the world’s most celebrated and challenging hill climbs, spanning 12.46 miles of tarmac and 156 turns, rising by over 4,700 feet from start to finish! Ken Block’s fascination with the hill climb stretches back to the early 2000s with a Group ‘N’ 200 hp Subaru rally car.

Unsurprisingly, anyone with an appetite for ultimate power and speed like Ken Block would consider 200 hp as child’s play! This time, the H.H.I.C (Head Hoonigan in Charge) teamed up with Pikes Peak specialists BBi Autosport to create the ultimate retro/neo-inspired Porsche 911 SVRSR racecar. This one-of-a-kind machine finds its place amongst Hoonigan’s purpose-built tire-shredding monsters, albeit for a completely different purpose.

The eye-catching design and colorway were commissioned in a collaborative effort between BBi Autosport and revered street artist Trevor Andrew a.k.a Trouble Andrew, to spin 1970s art into a bespoke 2022 drip. It is inspired by the one-off Porsche 917/20 “Pink Pig” livery that swooned the hearts and souls of teams and fans. The ‘Pink Pig’ livery and the Hoonigan-inspired artwork on the car earned its title as the ‘Hoonipigasus.’

The most striking feature of the Hoonipigasus is undoubtedly the aggressive aero. BBi Autosport completely ripped apart the rule book and built a vehicle specifically tuned for Ken Block’s driving style. With a mental front wing, low stance, massive rear diffuser and wing, and a GPS height-adjustable suspension — everything is there to maximize downforce and put the power down in the most effective way.

Moreover, the whole thing only weighs 2,200 lbs (998 kg) dry and packs a ridiculously powerful 1,400 hp twin-turbo engine on all four wheels. No need to do the math — the specs are outrageous! BBi claimed that the Hoonipigasus was its most fun and challenging build.

Founder of BBi Autosport, Betim Berisha, said: “The Hoonipigasus is an absolute dream-come-true type of build […] It doesn’t get any more mental from a tech, power, aero, and visual standpoint.”

This year, the Race to the Clouds will take place on 06/26 with the same craziness and fanfare as before, and the icing on the cake being Ken Block and his ‘Hoonipigasus’!
