GMC upgrades the Canyon AT4 with an even more extreme Off-Road Performance Edition.
We already knew that GMC was working on an off-road-focused Canyon, and now we just got a confirmation. The Canyon AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition will give customers a chance to experience premium comforts, even in rugged environments.
The GMC Canyon AT4 already came with a capable off-road package. GMC uses 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, Eaton G80 lock rear differential, advanced hill descent control, and an off-road-tuned suspension adjusted for maximum traction.
However, the Performance edition takes it a step further. It employs a new suspension leveling system that can raise the front to level keep the truck level. GMC has also removed the front air dam, improving the approach angle to 30-degrees, a 35% increase. Furthermore, drivers won’t have to worry about damaging the underbody anymore – the Canyon AT4 has rocker panel protectors and a front skid plate.
That being said, design changes are minimal, though. The Canyon Off-Road Performance Edition features gloss black 17-inch wheels, black AT4 logos, and gloss black exhaust tips. Not bad, but nothing to go crazy about. Nonetheless, the off-road improvements still speak for themselves.
The GMC Canyon AT4 Performance Edition will be available for order later this year, and the manufacture mentioned it would reveal prices closer to the launch.
