If you ever wondered whether the stock BMW M5 CS is overkill for the streets, think again! German tuning specialists, G-Power, unveiled the most hard-core BMW yet, packing 900 hp and many more improvements!
If you are a BMW fan, you must be already familiar with the Competition-Spec model of the M5. The M5 CS is the most powerful series-production BMW money can buy. That is, of course, until the XM comes out.
BMW took the already super-fast M5 to another level by juicing out an extra 30 hp from the M-Sport S58 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine to a whopping 630 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. The Munich-based automaker also dropped 154 lbs of mass from the stock car and added an 8-speed Steptronic transmission that slashed 0-60 mph times from 3.2 secs to 2.9 secs.
The folks at G-Power took the already blazing fast M5 CS, added its spin to it, and transformed it into a completely different animal. Aptly named as the G5M Hurricane RR, it blows the stock version out of the water. Courtesy of many radical internal upgrades, the machine now develops an eye-popping 900 hp and a mammoth 775 lb-ft of torque!
However, taking power up from 630 hp to 900 hp is certainly no piece of cake. Hence, the engineers revised and reinforced the internals with some unique parts. The list of upgrades includes forged pistons and connecting rods to support the extra loads, bigger turbochargers with a larger turbine and compressor housing, in-house CAD-designed intercoolers, G-Power DEEPTONE Stainless-steel exhaust system, high-flow downpipes, and optimization of the exhaust gas delivery for a freer response.
Apart from the numbers, the G5M Hurricane RR certainly looks the part! The front fascia is accentuated by an aggressive orange front splitter with larger grilles, air curtains, and a blacked-out hood with scoops, along with other bits to complement its demonic stance. Over to the sides, the monster features 21-inch Hurricane forged RR/RS wheels, side skirts, and matte orange vinyl with the ‘HURRICANE RR’ lettering. Finally, the rear end rounds off the entire design with a functional large rear spoiler, diffuser, and stainless-steel exhaust system.
Furthermore, the tuners also gave their twist to the interior with clever branding plus a liberal usage of Alcantara and leather. On the whole, the entire kit will set you back a ‘mere’ $127,542! Fret not, though; G-Power still offers several less powerful tuning stage options, upgrade kits, component upgrades for those with a limited budget!
