FJ Company’s latest Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 restomod is developed in collaboration with famous designer Todd Snyder.
Since its inception, the Toyota Land Cruiser has been an integral part of the Japanese automaker’s vehicle line-up. Moreover, older Land Cruiser models, like the FJ43, are very popular and hold a special place in history.
When it comes to modifying or customizing old FJ43 Land Cruiser restomods, there is no better name on the market than Florida-based FJ Company. Evidently, the garage has earned quite a reputation for itself in customizing this SUV.
Now, the garage has teamed up with Todd Snyder to create a special edition of the iconic FJ43 Land Cruiser. For those of you who don’t know, Todd Snyder is a very popular designer based in New York, well-known for his work in men’s clothing. Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time the designer has collaborated with the FJ Company.
Known as the Todd Snyder Edition G43, the retro SUV features the same chassis and steel body from 1970 to 1983 FJ43. Besides, FJ Company didn’t bother to make many design changes to make it look modern and unique. However, the company used a more modern 1FZE-TE Toyota engine coupled with an automatic transmission. The 4.5-liter inline-6 produces healthy 228 HP and 285 lb-ft (386 Nm) of torque.
According to FJ Company, the restoration process took almost a year to complete. Besides, the company restored and rebuilt all components by hand. Meanwhile, to make it as appealing as possible, Todd Snyder has personally selected a few customized color options. These color schemes include Ox Blood, Slate Grey, Military Olive, and Camel Tan.
As expected, Snyder has added a few touches in the FJ43 cabin. Notably, he has included a new Red Wing interior, which features leather seats and door panels. Moreover, Snyder has provided some optional features that the customers can choose from. These include optional manual transmission and hard-top. In addition, buyers can also opt for their own choice of Red Wing leather in the interior.
This customizable special edition SUV will be available to customers at a starting price of $215,000.
