REE Automotive’s Engineering Center at MIRA Technology Park in the UK would create around 200 highly-qualified job opportunities.
REE publicly reported its alliance with 10X Capital Venture Acquisition Corp. Moreover, the Israeli company confirmed it would create a new modern Engineering Center of Excellence. The innovation center will expedite REE’s business plans for its groundbreaking REEcorner platform technologies to meet global supply.
REE’s platform enables other mobility manufacturers to create any size or shape of electric and autonomous vehicles, trucks, and vans. That’s thanks to the patented REEcorner X-by-wire technology that embeds all essential parts (steering, suspension, braking, powertrain, and control) into the wheel arch.
Exclusive to REE, this revolutionary approach enables a fully flat and versatile EV chassis. Moreover, it gives customers complete design flexibility to build the broadest range of electric and autonomous vehicles. Besides, EVs and AVs based on REEcorner will provide more space for travelers, goods, and batteries.
Over the next few years, the establishment of REE’s Innovation Center at MIRA Technology Park in the UK should generate about 200 highly-qualified jobs. According to REE, the park will be Europe’s leading mobility R&D venue for the latest automotive technology.
“I am excited to announce another major milestone for REE towards bringing our technology and products to the market as we expand our global footprint,” said REE’s co-founder and CEO, Daniel Barel.
According to REE’s COO, Mike Charlton, the forward-thinking plan and zero-emission strategy of the UK’s government are a driving force to expand its operations in the country. He further said that the vision is perfectly aligned with REE’s goal of heralding a more sustainable future.
Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade, Lord Grimstone of Boscobel, welcomed REE in the UK and wished for its success. He also highlighted the government’s plan to minimize its carbon emission. Notably, UK will ban the sale of fossil fuel vehicles by the year 2030.
The first REEcorner platforms should ship to clients in 2022, with mass production starting in 2023.
