GM is in the middle of a large overhaul, aiming to become the largest electric automaker in the US, and the Corvette brand will play a big part!
Yup, the Corvette is going all-electric, and not in the form you expect — Chevy plans to launch an electric sedan, followed by an SUV. It’s unclear whether the sports car will also go electric for the next generation, but we know that the current Corvette C8 won’t receive an EV version. Still, we might see a hybrid C8 under the E-Ray or Zora brandings in the coming years.
As for the other models, Chevy will play the Ford card and will push a Mustang Mach-E competitor under the Corvette branding in 2025. Chevy just released the Chevrolet Blazer EV SS and is probably waiting for the buzz to settle before releasing the electric Corvette SUV. Although official information is scarce, there are talks of the SUV sharing the same platform as the Cadillac Celestiq flagship electric SUV.

However, the SUV will be preceded by an electric Corvette sedan to rival the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan. According to Muscle Cars and Trucks, the previously-rumored Camaro sedan will actually carry a Corvette badge. Come to think of it — the premium tag does make sense if the car were to compete with the Taycan and Model S Plaid. There is no information about the sedan’s performance, but expect sub-3-second 0-60 mph times and a larger focus on the handling and driving experience.
And if you frown at the sedan, remember that a Corvette with more than two seats isn’t a new idea — Chevy coined with it in 1962 when it conceptualized a four-seater Corvette.
All of this indicates GM’s intention of using the Corvette name to form a fully-fledged sub-brand for electric vehicles. The expansion will take the company some time to implement, but it will undoubtedly arrive.
