Which Chiron owner wouldn’t want a matching timepiece?
Bugatti has partnered with American luxury watch manufacturer Jacob & Co. to develop watches paying tribute to the Chiron. The idea is to capture the essence of the ultra-luxurious hypercar through equally brilliant timepieces. In fact, the watches created through this alliance are being hailed as one of the most advanced ones ever made.
Jacob & Co. designed four limited-edition wristwatches to celebrate the Chiron’s achievements, dubbing the collection “Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon.” The watches took a whole year to develop and feature a fascinating inclined tourbillon, the first time ever for a Jacob & Co. timepiece.
Present in the watch is a total of 578 intricate pieces, all working in sync to provide a marvelous mechanical movement. The watch’s caliber is suspended on four tiny shock absorbers, and one push at the right-hand crown unleashes a beautiful animation of small pistons and two turbines. The watches feature individual power sources for timekeeping and animation, although both can be wound using the middle crown.
All four wristwatches feature their own personalized touch. The first of the four is made out of a solid block of sapphire crystal with parts like caseback, crowns, and pushers crafted from the same material. Included with it is a rubber strap with a titanium buckle clasp.
Next up is a limited variant of which only 72 units will be produced. It features an 18-karat rose gold case, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass, an 18-karat rose gold open caseback along with black DLC titanium crowns complemented with a Bugatti logo.
The third watch will be made in even fewer units, just 52. Sparkling white diamonds would be the unique identifier of this 18-karat rose gold variant with the crowns and the pushers made out of 18-karat rose gold too, and a 18k rose gold diamond-lined buckle clasp for added luxury.
The fourth and final design in the series features an 18-karat white gold case lined with 391 black and white diamonds, oozing ultimate luxury as the ultimate reference of this timepiece. The open caseback is made of 18-karat White Gold and matching crowns and pushers carved out of baguette white diamonds. The watch also features 18 white diamonds arranged meticulously on the strap and the buckle clasp.
All of these watches will cost you more than a million dollars a piece. The Sapphire Glass Chrystal would cost around $1.2 million, while the other diamond-studded variants would most likely go for more than $2 million.
