Alpha Motor Corporation partnered with German tent expert Heimplanet to design the inflatable Cloudbreak geodesic tent, perfectly fitting Alpha’s Wolf electric pickup.
Engineers have worked hard to achieve this unique design, offering stability and easy access at the same time. Unlike most overlanding tents, the Cloudbreak stands thanks to an inflatable exoskeleton and is made up of weatherproof, durable, and tear-resistant polyester.
The Cloudbreak tent has two doors along with multiple windows and skylight panels so that you can sleep peacefully watching the twinkling stars above. According to Heimplanet, it results in an entirely innovative mobility alternative, offering a plethora of unique outdoor adventure opportunities.
Worth mentioning, the Cloudbreak was crafted keeping in mind the dimensions of both the two-seat Alpha Wolf and the bigger four-seat Wolf+. And if you think the Wolf’s 65″ bed is a little short to sleep in, you’ll be happy to hear that you can stretch the sleeping area thanks to a 40″ bed extension hitch, bringing the total length to 105″.
Talking about the upcoming pickup, Alpha showcased the electric Wolf pickups earlier this year. The standard Wolf will come with a single motor setup at the front, good enough for a 0 to 60 mph time in 6.2 seconds and 3,000 lbs of towing capacity.
On the other hand, the more capable dual-motor all-wheel-drive Wolf+ can run the same sprint in just 5.2-seconds and offers more than double its smaller sibling’s towing capacity at 6,274 lbs. Meanwhile, both electric pickups are said to have a range of 275 miles through a still-unspecified battery pack.
Alpha Motor Corporation is currently taking orders for the trucks, but unfortunately, you won’t be able to get your hands on one until 2023. The Wolf is priced between $36,000 and $46,000, while the Wolf+ starts at $40,000 and goes all the way up to $48,000. Keep in mind that the prices mentioned are without tax incentives and could very well vary as we get closer to the launch.
We expect the Cloudbreak geodesic tent to be available as soon as the Alpha Wolf trucks arrive, but there’s no official production date yet. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear more on the matter.
