All-New Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series to Debut on August 1s 2021

Toyota may launch its next-generation Land Cruiser 300 series on August 1 to mark the 70th anniversary of the original model!

Although reports suggest it could arrive earlier than expected, it’s worth remembering that Land Cruiser’s former chief engineer ran a countdown to this date on his social media profile, leading us to believe that the launch will take place on that important day. No official statement confirming the speculated launch date has been made by the carmaker, but still, launching another vehicle on the Land Cruiser’s big day would be quite the faux-pas.

That being said, the exterior design of the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series isn’t expected to change that much, but the cabin is believed to be overhauled, including some major modifications to give it a more luxurious and comfier look.

However, the engines will significantly different. Rumors have it that the new Land Cruiser would now be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid and a 3.3-liter V6 turbodiesel, coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4WD drivetrain.

Moreover, Toyota would equip the new Land Cruiser with the latest safety features and better software integration. It will be a high-end product, but the vehicle’s price may remain similar due to the downsizing of the engines.

Although 2020 brought recession in the market, the demand for the Land Cruiser surprisingly increased twofold,  leading to the consumption of its whole stock in the market. It’s only fitting that Toyota might be looking to release the new 300 series sooner than later.

The company will halt the production of the Land Cruiser 200 in a few weeks after more than a decade-long run and the last few models will be delivered by the end of April 2021, paving the way for the next generation.

We can expect the 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series to launch in various markets including Japan, Australia, and Europe. But, it is still unsure if it will enter the US or not as the carmaker shipped only 3,500 units in the American market last year.

More details will surface about the Land Cruiser 300 soon as we steer towards the expected launch date.

Till then, stay tuned!
