Arriving in five exciting trims and a Silverado-sourced engine, the all-new 2023 Colorado raises the standards for mid-size trucks to a new level.
The third-gen Chevrolet Colorado is all-new — new exterior, new interior, and guess what — even new upgrades under the hood. Riding on a new chassis and a 2.7-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged monster snatched from the Silverado, the new pickup is a contender to fear.
Let’s start with the exterior. The single bar that runs through the front of the new Colorado, bearing Chevrolet’s logo, is a bold start. Combine it with a sleek pair of headlights and a unique grille, and we have a wide front beckoning us. There’s no place for soft and supple curves — sharp lines and a rugged design emphasize the body.
The 2023 Colorado resembles the Silverado in many ways, but with enough uniqueness to set it apart. The bulky hood, fancy rear, and step bumper are some notable additions. As for the truck bed, it’s a five-foot-two-inch box with standard eight tie-downs and more space than before. Also, there are grooves for carrying bicycles and motorcycle tires. And, of course, a 110-volt power outlet that will come in handy any time.
The five trims — Work Truck, LT, Z71, ZR2, and the all-new Trail Boss are something to look forward to. There is also another trim — the ZR2 Desert Package, offering a chance for high-speed off-roading through the sand. With each model having the same basic features and chassis, no additional body styles are available for the upcoming truck.
Here is a table showing some basic features and dimensions of the different trims of the 2023 Colorado:

Ground Clearance | 7.9 in. | 8.9 in. | 9.5 in. | 10.7 in. |
The capacity of the engine also varies with the trims. There are three different tunings of the 2.7-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder unit, all accompanied by a standard eight-speed automatic gearbox with smoother shifts. The powertrain’s outputs vary between 237 hp and 310 hp, with three different torque figures on offer, depending on the trim. Take a look at the table below for the various engine outputs offered in the 2023 Colorado:

The premium interior of the 2023 Colorado is an unexpected yet pleasant addition. The cabin looks rich and cozy with high-tech features and luxurious interior options. Some eye-catchers include an 11.3-inch infotainment system, a stylish dashboard mirroring the Camaro, and a new center console. Moreover, the driver can switch between the five different driving modes by using the dial on the center console.
Loaded with features and specials, the 2023 Colorado will be built at Wentzville, Missouri, and will hit the market in H1 2023.
