Bigger Is Not Always Better: This Custom Ram 1500 'Baby TRX' Is an Adorable Burnout Machine

Bigger Is Not Always Better: This Custom Ram 1500 ‘Baby TRX’ Is an Adorable Burnout Machine

With no second-row and front driveshafts, this Baby TRX is the perfect toy car for grown-ups.

Let’s be honest; the Ram 1500 TRX is one of the most extreme trucks you can buy right now. With 702 hp and 650 lb-ft torque coming from the 6.2-liter Hemi V8 SRT Hellcat, it’s certainly one hell of a truck. That said, it’s only available in a double-cab form, and the days of V8-powered single-cabs are long gone.

But, that was the case only until recently, after popular automotive influencer Chuy RMZ decided to say “What if?” and cut a modern Ram 1500 TRX in half, turning it into a seriously badass single-cab truck.

The automotive influencer started with a stock 1500 TRX and proceeded to remove the second row altogether. And, of course, the chassis and body were stuck back together to form a single piece. Chuy didn’t choose to use an older single-cab Ram for this project due to the smaller cabin size (and perhaps the outdated design).

However, cutting a factory-made chassis wasn’t enough for Chuy. He also converted his four-wheel drive Ram 1500 TRX to a rear-wheel drive only! Yep! The Baby TRX doesn’t even have front driveshafts anymore. Despite losing a superb offroad capability, a rear-wheel-drive truck with 702 hp still sounds fun, isn’t it? Thanks to the front driveshaft delete, it can perform as well as a Dodge SRT Hellcat, burnouts and drifts included!

But before you do the same with your TRX, mind you, these kinds of modifications involve tweaking the chassis. The effect could be detrimental, and a homemade welded chassis wouldn’t be as strong as the original. In addition, modifying a car’s chassis is considered illegal and a safety hazard for the occupants inside.

But for what it’s worth, Chuy has managed to make this Baby TRX more fun to drive than its prior form. And by removing some of its parts, it could even be faster in a drag race as well.

Have a look at Chuy RMZ’s Instagram account for more stunts, as well as other crazy projects involving some serious muscle.
