The wait is finally over for the Volkswagen ID.4 all-electric SUV, which is set to release by the end of September.
The electric vehicle sector has recently been witnessing an unprecedented rise. We are in the growth stage, and soon we will reach a stage whereby car lovers all around the world will cherish the memories of these early years. This is where the renewable energy revolution begins, and it’s the ideal time for auto manufacturers to enter the market with compact electric SUVs. Indeed, Volkswagen is just about to jump on the bandwagon too.
Volkswagen’s Brand Director, Thomas Ulrich, has recently made a public statement in this regard. He mentioned that not only will the ID series bring the first fully-electric SUV to the US but also throughout Europe and even, perhaps, the Chinese Mainland.
The German manufacturer pledged to make the ID.4 more feature-studded while promising to keep the price factor as low as possible, which has become a critical area when it comes to manufacturing electric vehicles.
Two manufacturing units have reportedly been set up in China and will kickstart the production of the ID.4 series within this year. Mr. Ulbrich has confirmed that the manufacturing units in the US, in Chattanooga and Tennessee, will engage in production activities of ID.4 by the year 2022.
He also noted that the series is meant for the next generation while enhancing the number of features and specifications to ensure that it becomes a great buy for consumers worldwide. Brand CEO Branstatter has stressed their commitment towards a CO2 neutral future, bearing in mind the necessary actions to protect the climate.
