Naming it “Premature Electrification,” Ram unveiled its 1500 REV electric truck in style at the Super Bowl through a 60-second advertisement.
Last month, we told you about the Ram 1500 BEV Concept and how it garnered enormous attention at the CES 2023 show. After showing the concept, Ram quickly unveiled the production 2025 1500 REV Electric Truck at a Super Bowl commercial. The company moved so quickly, probably because it wanted to keep attention to its electric truck, with the competition already making its moves.

However, Ram has another surprise for you — the production 1500 REV doesn’t look anything like the concept revealed last month. After the BEV Concept’s introduction, everyone naturally expected the new model from Ram to adopt its unique style and build. But for the new production “Premature Electrification” truck, Ram has just gone for a similar build to its ICE counterpart. One could even call this model an electrified version of the original truck.
Observing closely, you can find a few features at the front and the rear of the truck that stands out from the rest. For example, the faux grille with illuminated “Ram” lettering is quite the addition. As a nod to the 1500 BEV Concept, the automaker goes for an intriguing set of LED lights, bulky bumpers, a hood, and bespoke wheels. However, the rest looks similar to the gas-powered Ram 1500.

The commercial aired at the Super Bowl was a 60-second video that details the truck. Viewers could also get a peek into the interior of the 1500 REV. Unfortunately, there aren’t many changes compared to the gas-powered model, except for an additional screen for the passenger.
While the commercial didn’t delve deep into the technical details, we have gathered the basics for you. As per Ram’s proclamation, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV Electric Truck will be built on the STLA Frame Architecture and offer a range of up to 500 miles. No new information has been released — all details about the range are based on the specifications of the BEV 1500 concept.
Ram has announced that the 2025 1500 REV is open for registration now. Production and sales will occur in late 2024.
