The 2022 Toyota Highlander Bronze Edition features trendy bronze/copper wheels, two exclusive exterior colors, and bronze details in the cabin.
Toyota’s big and bold Highlander three-row SUV has arrived in a new Bronze Edition for the 2022 model year, and it looks more handsome than ever. The SUV receives all the glitz and glam in the form of a spectacular appearance package that will undoubtedly make passers-by stop and stare.
The Highland Bronze Edition is available in two eye-catching exterior paint options: the edition-exclusive Cement Grey and Wind Chill Pearl, a brand-new color for the 2022 Highlander lineup. But what steals the show are those funky 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels in a bronze finish (or some might say copper finish) that accentuate the overall sleek appearance of the SUV.
The cabin, particularly, feels even more premium thanks to the decorative bronze treatment for the illuminated door sills and bespoke bronze stitching for the dashboard. The bronze stitching continues for what Toyota calls “mid-century modern-inspired SofTex-trimmed seats” with a textured fabric featurette and a contrast bronze strip in the middle. Meanwhile, the unique floor and cargo mats, adorned with a distinct bronze logo, further add to the cabin’s premium ambiance.
The Bronze Edition features all the standard content of the Highlander XLE trim, plus a decent package of exclusive tech too. These add-ons include a hands-free power liftgate, LED-strip daytime running lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, in-dash ambient lighting, a digital rearview mirror, a 10-way power driver seat with memory function, a 1500W power outlet, and puddle lamps that feature the Highlander logo. Furthermore, the Bronze Edition also comes with a few features standard on the 2022 Highlander XLE or higher trims, such as electronic height and tilt adjustment for the passenger seats.
The 2022 Highlander Bronze Edition retains its hybrid powertrain, combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to produce a maximum output of 243 hp. Customers can choose either a front-wheel-drive layout with an estimated 36 mpg combined or an all-wheel-drive setup that adds a motor at the rear axle. The latter operates independently with no mechanical connection between the transmission and the rear wheels.
The Highlander Bronze Edition is covered by Toyota’s standard 36-month/36,000-mile warranty, while the powertrain comes with a 60-month/60,000-miles warranty. Pricing details for the new edition are not available yet, but Toyota says it will fall somewhere between the $42,710 Hybrid XLE and $46,665 Hybrid Limited trim levels. Deliveries will begin later this year.
