Track Weapon Alert: Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2

The Super Trofeo EVO2 is a beast!

Lamborghini Squadra Corse racing division and Centro Stile design studio were primarily involved in designing and constructing the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2. The teams have taken the essence of the Huracán and elevated it to a whole new level, with their main focus set on exterior modifications to improve aerodynamics as well as the supercar’s braking capacity.

Its deep, forceful look defines the EVO2’s front and the new hexagonal high-intensity LED headlamps that have been reshaped and sharpened for a much fiercer appearance. Meanwhile, the omega front lip connecting the front wings was directly inspired by the Huracán STO track car.

Air curtain intakes were added to increase airflow and channel it towards the sides of the vehicle, resulting in improved aerodynamics and stability at high speed. At the same time, they help to keep the Super Trofeo EVO2 cool even when it is cruising past the 200 mph mark. As per Lamborghini, these design modifications will find their way to the company’s upcoming streetcars too.

At the back, the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 features a massive spoiler playing an integral role in defining the car’s character. Also, the rear houses gorgeous LED tail lamps and twin center exhausts that Lamborghini claims are a nod to the iconic Countach.

A few of the plastic elements have been replaced with carbon fiber, including the door sill linings. Moreover, the rear wheel arches and a portion of the side spoiler are now constructed in a single piece to achieve a more streamlined airflow.

The braking system has also been altered. The front steel discs are extended from 380 to 390 mm, and new calipers allow for bigger pads, significantly improving braking capacity, essential for extensive track use.

When it comes to the power unit, it remains the same as before: a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine with a maximum output of 620 HP that sends power to the rear wheels via a sequential X-Trac gearbox.

The Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 will debut on May 28 at the Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet, France. American pricing has not been announced, but interested European customers will have to shell out the equivalent of $306,000 to get their hands on the EVO2. Finally, EVO owners need not worry as the company will offer a conversion kit to EVO2 specifications starting next year.
