One unique ultra-low mileage Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman is on sale in the Netherlands, and it’s not cheap!
The Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman was a really luxurious car in the 1970s and 80s. Indeed, it could only be afforded by the super-rich; thus, only 304 units of the 4-door Pullman were made. The model we are talking about still carries the old-school charm, but it also boasts numerous modern features—well, modern at the time.
Rebuilding this timeless classic started in 2007 and continued until 2014. At one point, both Mercedes-Benz Classic and Daimler AG were involved, and it is believed that roughly €3,000,000 were invested in restoring and modifying this unique 600 Pullman. Interestingly, the vehicle is still powered by the original 250 hp 6.3-liter M100 V8, with just 1,000 miles on the counter.
Worth mentioning, Maybach has designed several parts exclusive for this car, such as a dimmable panoramic roof, modern electric seats, a minibar, a fridge, a large retractable DVD screen, and Swarovski diamonds in the ceiling moldings. The owner also gets folding work tables, a surround sound system, and an intercom.
The Mercedes-Benz 600 is a series of ultra-luxury cars produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1963 and 1981. This car replaced the Type 300d Adenauer to be Mercedes-Benz’s flagship model. Being positioned above the S-Class, the 600 paved the way for modern-day cars such as the Maybach marque.
Mercedes-Benz 600 was offered in two different variants—short and Pullman long wheelbase. The SWB variant was meant to be owner-driven, while the LWB was meant to be driven by a chauffeur.
In the 70s and 80s, the Mercedes-Benz 600 was one of the most luxurious cars around—not many cars could even hope of competing with it. Today, it is as prestigious as it was in its heyday, especially in its long 600 Pullman guise, although slightly outdated.
