Hennessey has taken the Cadillac CTS-V to the next level with an extensive performance package, good enough to leave the ZL1 1LE Camaro in the dust!
Just as Cadillac is getting ready to announce the new 2022 CT4-V and CT5-v, Hennessey, the notorious Texan tuning firm, has come out with a mod pack for the CTS-V for those who just can’t wait.
The CTS-V has been under the table at Hennessey’s for a while, and the HPE1000 package will make it even faster than the upcoming Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The prove such high claims, Hennessey took its HPE1000 CTS-V for a spin at Pennzoil Proving Grounds and showed its full potential tearing up the track.
The stock CTS-V is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 640 HP at 6,400 rpm and 630 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. The car has more power than most of its competitors, like the Audi RS6 and the Mercedes E63 AMG in stock form. But since no power is never enough power, it will churn out a whopping 1,000 HP at 6,400 rpm and 966 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm once Hennessey‘s package is installed.
The company says the car can reach 60 mph from a standstill a second faster than the stock CTS-V, clocking in at 2.7 seconds — a massive improvement considering the fierce competition it faces.
Of course, to reach such impressive power figures, a load of changes has been made to the engine. Hennessey has installed a larger supercharger, along with a new camshaft, a new heat exchanger, upgraded intake and exhaust valves, valve springs, retainers, and pushrods. Other mods include ported cylinder heads, stainless steel headers, a new intercooler, and high-flow catalytic converters.
The whole fuel injection system has also been replaced with a more powerful and efficient package, and a software update has been issued to manage it too. Hennessey also offers a standard 2-year/24,000-mile warranty.
