Comfort found new meaning as Kia debuts a new Carnival variant called ‘Hi Limousine.’
Kia’s Carnival minivan features a Smartstream G3.5 GDI V6 petrol engine producing 290 hp and 261.8 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission for a smooth and comfortable ride.
However, it’s not the performance that makes the latest iteration of the Carnival interesting. Yes, the minivan features an abnormally high roof, which most people could confuse for a roof box. However, what’s really interesting is what’s actually inside.

The ‘Hi Limousine’ variant features lounge-like second-row seats with foldable leg rests. This is combined with additional 11.45 inches of headroom, hence the roof box-looking extension. Moreover, Kia has done amazingly to make the third-row seats comfortable even after providing a larger-than-life experience for the second-row occupants.
Passengers in the second and third row of the minivan have access to a 21.5-inch smart monitor. Add an HD-DMB TV signal to the device mirroring and sharing options as well as HDMI and USB connectivity ports, and you just couldn’t ask for anything more as a passenger during a long trip.
Kia also accompanied the Hi Limousine’s over-the-top features with subtle yet effective amenities. Passengers who wish to enjoy a good read can make use of the LED reading lights along with beautiful ambiance lighting. One also has access to heated and cooled cup holders. For added privacy and more comfort during long trips, side curtains and an air purifier are also included.
On the outside, Kia has made sure that the high roof isn’t the only distinguishing feature of the luxurious variant. The tailgate also sports a ‘Hi Limousine’ emblem to separate it from the rest. The feeling of luxury is also underlined with the side steps and unique LED brake lights. To round off its features, Kia has also provided interesting skid plates and a sturdy front bumper.
Currently, the Carnival comes in 7-seat and 9-seat variants. Kia has confirmed its plans to reveal more luxurious trims in the future. Unfortunately, the Hi Limousine variant’s availability in the US is still uncertain.
