Cadillac’s subcompact crossover, the XT4, gets a mid-cycle 2024 update, giving it a fresh interior with the largest display area in its category.
The 2024 XT4 now comes with a tech-savvy interior that gets a mega-sized 33-inch infotainment screen with 9K resolution. The configuration is similar to Cadillac’s higher-end models, like the Escalade and Lyriq, and one of the best implementations in the business. It’s slightly geared toward the driver and features 5G WiFi Hotspot, a suite of Google built-in apps, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Whether it helps the 2024 XT4 to be more competitive against the Germans remains to be seen, but it’s a nice upgrade.
But other areas of the cabin are similarly extravagant. Customers can choose from wood, carbon fiber, brushed aluminum cabin furnishings, and a handful of new colors. Moreover, Cadillac offers a 13-speaker AKG Studio audio system on all its trims. The cold weather package is a highlight, too — heated seats and steering come with the basic pack, whereas ventilated massaging seats are available in the higher trims.
Cadillac also restyled the exterior so that it better fits with other models in its lineup. Notably, the front headlights look sharper, and the gloss black grille leaves a stronger impression. At the rear, the 2024 XT4 still features distinctive vertical taillights, though Cadillac placed the fog lights on the body rather than the bumper.
The new lineup will feature new wheels — customers can choose between 18- and 20-inch alloy wheel options. The 2024 XT4 will be available in three trims — Luxury, Premium, and Sport.
Although Cadillac made significant changes inside and outside, the 2024 XT4 keeps the old 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to the front wheels is standard, though customers can opt for AWD.
The 2024 XT4 comes packed with a lot of standard safety features, including Blind Zone Steering Assist, Lane-Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and Lane Departure Warning are some among the many. You can also opt for the Active Safety Package, which offers additional features like Rear Pedestrian Alert, Speed Limit Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Cadillac still hasn’t revealed pricing information, though expect a small price premium over the pre-facelift model. The 2024 XT4 should hit dealerships this summer.
