Nissan is giving the 2021 Armada a makeover, complete with a refreshed infotainment system and a more powerful drivetrain.
The 2021 Nissan Armada is back with a bang, now featuring the latest tech and new trim options. From an aesthetic standpoint, the re-designed LED headlights with bracket shaped daytime running lights and thicker V-shaped outline surrounding the front grille sure are an interesting change. At the rear, buyers also get a revised bumper and newly designed taillights.
Coming to the cabin, Nissan added a massive 7-inch instrument display and a huge 12.3-inch infotainment system to make sure everything is accessible with just a touch.
Safety is the company’s utmost priority. Consequently, the 2021 Nissan Armada features best-in-class safety features and driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot warning, only to name a few.
Even though power comes from the same 5.6-liter V8 used in older models, the redesigned Armada now boasts slightly better power figures. The tuned engine produces a whopping 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque compared to its predecessor’s 390 hp and 394 lb-ft of torque. Nonetheless, the SUV can tow 8,500 pounds, a figure similar to its previous models. However, an integrated trailer brake controller and trailer sway control system are also optional for customers needing to tow heavy trailers.
Nissan will also offer many trim levels for the 2021 model, including the range-topping Platinum trim equipped with a large rearview mirror camera display. The Platinum 4X2 trim level is priced at $64,900, including $1,395 in destination charges.
The cheaper SL trim now comes with revised features and a Midnight Edition package, which is basically a blacked-out variant.
Of course, revamped trims often lead to price hikes, and the Armada is no different. Nonetheless, with the wide range of new features and safety tech, the 2021 Nissan Armada still promises to be a good buy — even though, I got to admit that, in my opinion, it still looks quite outdated.
But that might be just me…
