Volkswagen just dropped the all-new Multivan T7, a seven-seater MPV with a fresh look, a spacious cabin, and hi-tech interior features.
The new Multivan has been released as a replacement for the Caravelle, albeit with a more contemporary design and even more practicality and comfort.
The all-new van is 4,973mm long, 1,941mm wide, and 1,903mm high, with a standard wheelbase of 3,124mm, although buyers can also go for the LWB model with a wheelbase of 5,173mm.
Inside, everything is new and fresh while paying homage to the famous 1985 Transporter T3. At the front, there is a horizontal line with a super-wide grille and unique headlights which gives the car a modern MPV look. In addition, LED headlights are standard.
However, customers can choose from the optional interactive LED-matrix lights. They offer permanent high beams without blinding the oncoming drivers and illuminate the corners when the driver turns. The optional headlights package also features an illuminated bar in the radiation grille.
Furthermore, VW has redesigned the A-pillars to improve visibility and increase the visual width. The air vents at the front are also in the same color as the body, along with the front bumpers.
Apart from these, optional modifications include a panoramic glass roof with special glass to reduce thermal radiation. Like before, the Multivan T7 features electronically operated sliding doors and a rear hatch that can be opened and closed via hand gestures.
The inside of the all-new Multivan T7 is a perfect example of comfort and practicality. It can have up to seven lightweight and flexible seats, with the rear five easily removable. The second row is even rotatable by 180-degrees to create a more interactive and conference-style cabin. Besides, instead of a full bench-like seat for the third row, VW opted for individual seats. Hence, the owner could easily remove them to create additional space.
Moreover, the cabin features a unique, multifunctional table. It uses a central track, allowing it to move across all the rows of seats. There are three cupholders and a storage unit in the multifunctional table, and a height-adjustable setting.
And for the first time in a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle, the all-new Multivan T7 offers a PHEV variant, featuring an 85kW electric motor and a 1.4 TSI 150 PS engine.
Looks like a fun little truck, don’t you think?
