Silent but Deadly: Tesla Cybertruck’s Off-Road Skills Shine in New Tests

Watch the Cybertruck leave doubters in the dust as it tackles Arizona’s toughest trails.

Tesla’s Cybertruck has been making waves since its introduction, but not just for its unique design. Recently, the electric pickup has turned heads with its off-road capabilities, showcased in a series of impressive videos from Arizona. Despite earlier doubts about its ruggedness, the Cybertruck is proving it can handle tough terrain with ease.

The videos, uploaded to YouTube, show the Cybertruck tackling a challenging hill climb and descent. The terrain is rough, filled with large rocks and ruts, but the Cybertruck navigates it with surprising agility. What stands out is the quietness of its ascent – a stark contrast to the roar typically associated with off-roading vehicles. This near-silent operation is a reminder of the unique experiences electric vehicles offer, even in the most demanding environments.

The hill climb is particularly noteworthy. Out of three attempts, the Cybertruck successfully completes the climb twice. Although the footage of the failed attempt isn’t shown, the two successful climbs are enough to demonstrate the truck’s capabilities. The key, it seems, is maintaining momentum and ensuring good traction – crucial factors in off-roading, especially in electric vehicles like the Cybertruck.

Descending the hill, the Cybertruck’s performance is equally impressive. It navigates the steep incline carefully, showcasing stability even when three-wheeling. For those new to off-roading, such a situation might seem daunting, but the Cybertruck handles it without nearing its tipping point.

Earlier videos had cast some doubt on the Cybertruck’s off-road capabilities. Footage from California showed the vehicle struggling on different off-road courses, including an attempt to ascend a staircase-like obstacle. These earlier showings had left enthusiasts and potential buyers questioning if the Cybertruck could live up to the off-road expectations set by Tesla.

However, the new footage paints a different picture. The Cybertruck isn’t just holding its own; it’s excelling in conditions that would challenge even dedicated off-road vehicles. Its impressive specifications support this performance – a 17.4-inch ground clearance, a 35-degree approach angle, and a 28-degree departure angle. Additionally, its air suspension system, which adds another 12 inches of lift, makes the Cybertruck a formidable player in off-road conditions.

While Tesla has started delivering the first batch of Cybertrucks, these ongoing tests indicate that the company is still refining the vehicle. This continuous development and testing are typical of Tesla’s approach, always striving to push the envelope and improve their offerings.

For fans and skeptics alike, these videos are a strong indication of the Cybertruck’s potential. Not only does it challenge conventional design norms, but it also showcases the possibilities of electric vehicles in off-road settings.
