Tesla Now Sells a Cybertruck for Kids in Case Their Daddy Can’t Afford the Real Thing

Since the Tesla Cybertruck’s price has skyrocketed, Tesla introduces a budget-friendly version.

As the Tesla Cybertruck rolled out to its initial customers, the sticker shock of its pricing also emerged. The once-touted $40,000 starting price from four years ago has significantly jumped to a starting price of $60,990, with the high-end ‘Cyberbeast’ model reaching a staggering $99,990.

For those who, years back, placed a $100 deposit only to find the Cybertruck now stretches beyond their budget, Elon Musk offers an intriguing alternative, albeit one that’s more fitting for the younger crowd. Enter the Tesla Cybertruck for Kids. Priced at approximately $1,500, this mini version offers a more affordable slice of the Tesla experience, undercutting the full-size model’s price by $59,490.

This kid-friendly Cybertruck is a remarkable, scaled-down replica of the original, maintaining the iconic design in miniature form. While the exact materials of this smaller model remain a mystery, it’s unlikely to feature the same Tesla-specific stainless-steel alloy bodywork known for its bulletproof qualities, especially given its much lower price. Nevertheless, it boasts a similar bare satin silver exterior, mirroring the full-size truck’s aesthetic.

Diverging from the actual Cybertruck, this miniature version forgoes the famed armored glass, meaning no metal-ball tests here. Designed to accommodate two children rather than five adults, it boasts an airy, open-top design, offering an abundance of headroom in lieu of a roof.

Technically, the children’s Cybertruck operates on a 22v system, a far cry from the adult version’s 800v setup. It’s powered by a single 500w motor, generating 0.7 hp to the rear axle, which might just turn it into a mini drifting sensation. However, this pint-sized powerhouse won’t be clocking any impressive 0-60 mph times; it’s capped at a top speed of 10 mph, covering about 12 miles on a single charge. Concerned about speed? The maximum can be dialed back to 5 mph for added safety.

More than just a toy, this model is essentially a large-scale remote-controlled car that kids can actually ride in. Tailored for children aged 6 to 12 and with a weight limit of 150 lbs, Tesla’s creation is a fun, scaled-down venture into their electric world. Notably, this isn’t Tesla’s first foray into kid-friendly versions of their products. Following the Cybertruck Concept reveal in 2019, Tesla also launched a children’s version of the Cyberquad — Elon and his jokes, huh.
