Nissan and OGUshow created a “workation” NV350 Caravan ES Mobility Concept for leisure and work, packing a creative and flexible interior.
Things will be completely different in the post corona world, but the most significant impact will be on how and where we do our work. Some people will now be fortunate enough to work from home or any place they love. However, there are some necessities to do that, though—a smartphone, a computer, and a fast internet connexion.
Accordingly, to beat the monotonous life of working from home, a new concept of “Workation” spread like wildfire. Workation is a simple combination of working while on vacation. To achieve this goal, Nissan and OGUshow developed a leisure and work camper van. The result, called NV350 Caravan ES Mobility Concept, is a multi-functional van that will act as a mobile office and base camp for various activities. Nissan intends to fulfill three goals – surfing, fishing, and camping with this MPV.
When it comes to the design of the concept workation van, Nissan followed minimalism principles. There is a lot of flexibility, openness, and massive scope for creativity in its interior. A fascinating feature is its foldable resting area with ample storage space underneath and roof clinging storage on crossbars. Simultaneously, there is ample space for placing bicycles, surfboards, fishing rods, and utility boxes.
Nonetheless, Nissan and OGUshow’s concept is not a complete RV since it lacks washroom and kitchen space. However, the NV350 features a Cellstar DC / AC inverter, converting the van’s power for various utility devices, although it ditches heavy electrical equipment or devices. To compensate for this, Nissan and OGUshow employed multi-purpose components like a dual portable power station, camping stove, and a fridge.
Furthermore, the electric glass window at the back end swiftly changes between transparent and opaque at one touch. Besides, the darkened glass helps during sleep/naps, and you can even project on it.
The NV350 Caravan ES Mobility Concept comes with a choice of 2.5-liter diesel or 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The gasoline engine produces 129 hp, while the diesel one has 127 hp.
Nissan and OGUshow’s NV350 workstation van could be a sign of what’s to come in the future. Other carmakers will probably continue to launch concepts like this, especially after the accelerated post-corona market demand.
