With the new generation C-Class launch, Mercedes-Benz wants to define modern luxury and show a clear path to an all-electric future.
According to the manufacturer, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be the most efficient and digitally-empowered car in its class. The German automaker’s all-new compact executive sedan will debut digitally on February 23 on its media website.
In a first for Merc, the entire C-Class series will feature electrified powertrains. However, it will eliminate the six-cylinder and V8 options and instead offer only hybrid four-cylinder turbocharged engines. Let’s just hope that Merc battery packs can deliver V8-like power.
Worth mentioning, the all-new C-Class will come exclusively with Mercedes’ nine-speed automatic transmission. Also, expect a slightly more spacious cabin—the 2022 model will be 2.5-inches longer and have a 1-inch longer wheelbase.
Like the current model, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be available in two different body styles: Sedan and Estate. There is also a possibility of an All-Terrain wagon version, aka Audi A4 Allroad.
Meanwhile, just like the new S-Class, the 2022 C-Class will feature the 2nd generation Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX). So, expect an S-Class-style fully-digital dashboard and 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment.
It is quite evident that Mercedes is putting much weight behind an electrified future. Therefore, February 23 will be a great day for all the Mercedes fans and lovers to witness a new beginning. We all are waiting for it.
