Look at this Cool NASA Electric Lunar Motorcycle

Russian designer imagines what a NASA electric lunar motorcycle would look like.

Everyone remembers the historical moment when NASA sent humans to the Moon in 1969. After the completion of that mission, Americans sent a car up on the Moon for cruising around. The Lunar Rover became the first electric vehicle on the Moon.

Fast forward to 2020, and NASA announces the Artemis mission to the Moon in 2024. As a result, many people have come up with vehicle ideas and concepts.

One such concept is the lunar electric motorcycle, designed by mastermind Moscow-based senior designer Andrew Fabishevskiy.

NASA Electric Lunar Motorcycle

This electric motorcycle, aka the NASA Motorcycle, consists of a tubular trellis frame that holds the battery and integral parts. It appears to feature two motors mounted centrally on the hubs. The motorcycle features low slung handlebars to keep the rider’s center of gravity as low as possible. Besides, it has off-road tires suitable for the Moon’s surface.

Andrew Fabishevskiy has done a stellar job at designing this concept. Although this electric motorcycle will most probably never actually ride on the Moon — it’s just a design study, after all — the Lunar motorcycle looks promising and realistic.

That being said, we can all agree that space and motorcycle technology has taken a quantum leap forward, and the future looks really promising. Who knows? NASA might actually consider this idea and go through with it.

Or, if not NASA, Space X maybe?
