Lexus introduces the
Lexus keeps the Inspiration series alive for the LC 500 sports car. Earlier, the company previously announced a sky-blue LC 500 Inspiration Series convertible, now adding a blacked-out variant covered with carbon-fiber, exclusively offered in Obsidian black.
The LC 500 features a 5.0-liter V8 producing 471 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque. The Inspiration Series coupe will have the same powertrain but with a couple of upgrades. For instance, it now comes with a new Torsen limited-slip rear differential, a tweaked suspension, 22-pounds lighter 21-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels, and “Active Cornering Assist” to prevents understeer.

Interestingly, Lexus didn’t add the rear wing only for looks — it also has a practical purpose. The Japanese manufacturer was involved in designing the plane of air-race pilot Yoshihide Muroya, which won the 2017’s Red Bull air race title. At the same time, Lexus gained significant experience to produce better aerodynamic efficiency. Consequently, the rear spoiler and wings are fully functional, creating a vortex helping with stability at higher speeds.
