Kobe Bryant’s Chevy Impala Lowrider is Up for Auction

Legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant’s tragic death shook the whole world after he died in an unfortunate helicopter crash on the 26th of January. Accompanying him were his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven more passengers. Since then, the Mambas’ legacy lives on, and now one of his vehicles is up for auction on Goldin Auction.

Initially gifted by his wife Vanessa Bryant for Christmas, Kobe’s 1963 Chevy Impala can be yours if you’re willing to shell out anything over the six figure mark. The bid stands at $140,000 now, and experts believe that it will probably go as high as $250,000.

Interestingly, the car is almost 60 years old, and its odometer reads just 24,729 miles. The car remained in the former LA Lakers player’s possession from 2006 to 2013, having a new owner since 2014.

The Impala was specially designed by West Coast Customs (WCC) for Kobe, and given the fact that when it was first purchased, the car’s only quality was being dent-free, we have to say WCC has done a tremendous job on it.

The listing states that Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant personally asked for this 1963 model to be converted into the “ultimate lowrider.”

The car originally featured a 327 V8 engine. It has now been improved with hydraulics and various aftermarket parts. The exterior is painted in a unique shade somewhere between purple and royal blue. And years later, the shine is still impeccable.

The interior is equally mesmerizing, with white and purple accents and royal blue carpeting for a classy feel. And that’s not it; the seats and carpets have even been laced with Swarovski crystals!

She said “the Ultimate Lowrider,” right?

Goldin Auction has also listed a lot of other memorabilia from Kobe Bryant’s illustrious career. The collection includes various signed sneakers, t-shirts, and rings. All proceeds will go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, set up after the tragedy.

This beautiful Chevy Impala will be on auction until the 30th of January.
