Jeep surprised adventure junkies, revealing not one, not two, but four off-road concepts for the 2021 “Easter Jeep Safari” event.
This year, the Easter Jeep Safari event will take place from March 27 to April 4 in Moab, Utah, and it is expected to attract off-roading enthusiasts from all over the world.
“We would be showcasing our new concepts at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari that has been the testing ground for our new vehicles,” said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America.
“These concepts have been developed by Jeep in resonance with the Jeep Performance Parts to meet the expectations of passionate off-road enthusiasts who attend this event every year.”
Jeep Magneto
The Jeep Magneto is an all-electric variant of the two-door 2020 Wrangler Rubicon, and it features a 70-kWh battery pack. Inside, there is a custom-built axial motor that generates 285 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. What’s interesting, though, is that the power goes to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, something that would please the off-road community. The Wrangler Magneto would go from 0-60 mph in under 7 seconds, provided you’re fast with the shifter. We might see a production version in late 2022.
Jeepster Breach
You cannot conclude an EJS event without paying homage to some of the past classic off-road vehicles, and the Jeepster Breach does just that. It is inspired by the original 1968 Jeepster Commando that was one of the first compact vehicles to feature a four-wheel-drive and an automatic transmission. The Jeepster Breach features a bright dual-tone paint scheme of Zinc Oxide and Hazy IPA. It features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine generating 340 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, the Jeepster Breach uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and sits on a pair of 35-inch tires.
Jeep Red Bare
The Jeep Red Bare has been designed to overcome even the most challenging terrains. Jeep says that the Red Blare will offer an unmatched performance, range, fuel efficiency. This monster packs a 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoDiesel V6 engine that generates 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. The power goes to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox optimized for low RPM work.
Jeep Wrangler Orange Peelz
Like the Magneto we discussed earlier, the Wrangler Orange Peelz is also based on the two-door Wrangler. However, instead of an electric motor, it features a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 285 hp and 260 lb-t of torque. Like every other concept, it also pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Although the vehicle does not feature rear and side windows, it boasts a removable “Freedom Top” glass sunroof. Meanwhile, the car’s windshield is made from Corning Gorilla Glass. The Orange Peelz also features two five-inch LED lights mounted on its A-pillars, enhancing its appearance.
With these vehicles’ addition, the Eastern Jeep Safari now becomes a must-attend show for all off-road enthusiasts.
