Hyundai Casper Micro SUV

Hyundai Casper is the Most Adorable Micro-SUV You’ve Ever Seen!

The Hyundai Casper features a funky retro-modern design and two tiny engine options, but of course, it won’t be available in North America.

Hyundai unveiled its smallest SUV yet, positioned below the Venue, expected to hit Korea’s showrooms soon. Unsurprisingly, but sadly, to be honest, the Casper won’t be available in the US or Canada. However, it might appear in other markets under a different name, notably in India, where it will reach dealerships by 2022.

You might find the Hyundai Casper a bit familiar, and for a good reason; it shares the same platform as the Grand i10 and Santro. The design is quite appealing, with rounded-off edges and a flat top, reminiscent of the Honda E. The retro headlamps in the front bumper are just to die for, and the LED jewel cluster adorning the rear-end is a neat addition. On the other hand, dual-tone alloy wheels and rear door handles buried in the C-pillars (kinda like the Honda HR-V) complete the crossover’s appearance as a modern but nostalgic three-door micro-SUV.

With its funky design, the Casper is clearly targeted at the younger generation, although Hyundai still hasn’t provided any details about the interior. Still, to appeal to the target audience, the carmaker will surely include a large touchscreen infotainment display in the middle and some other gadgetry connected to Hyundai’s Blue Link in-car tech.

In Korea, the Hyundai Casper will be offered with a 76-hp 1.0-liter or an optional 100hp 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, both paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, acceptable for an urban vehicle. However, rumors have it that Hyundai also has an all-electric variant in the pipeline, which will undoubtedly be even more interesting.

That’s all we have until now, but Hyundai is expected to provide more information about the micro SUV soon. Production will start on September 15, and South Korean customers will be able to make reservations by the end of the month.

More details to come.
