Honda HR-V e:HEV Arrives Exclusively with Hybrid Power

Honda has finally unveiled the global HR-V e:HEV crossover, featuring a hybrid powertrain exclusively as standard across all variants.

With this, the HR-V became the third Honda vehicle after the all-new CR-V and refreshed Jazz to carry the e:HEV tag. The move also takes Honda one step closer to electrifying all of its European offerings by 2022.

A quick disclaimer: this is not the HR-V that Honda will sell in North America. The crossover will be different for that market, although we aren’t sure by how much.

Honda claims that thanks to the hybrid powertrain, the HR-V would be exceptionally efficient. Moreover, the crossover would boast advanced safety and technological features. The all-new HR-V looks pretty similar to its previous models, retaining its coupe-silhouette. However, Honda still promises class-leading interior space and comfort.

Furthermore, the designers were able to incorporate a longer bonnet with sharper vertical sides in the body. The bonnet center now sits low and flat, while the shoulder line connects it to the A-pillars base. This enhances the HR-V e:HEV aesthetics and provides a sense of security and stability.

But why don’t we get into the car and see what the HR-V e:HEV has in store for you? As you step into the cabin, the first thing you would notice is a floating touchscreen infotainment system with support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Meanwhile, the front seats are covered in leather and also ventilated. Besides, the unique L-shaped vents on the top corners of the dashboard create a curtain of fresh air in the cabin. To complete the list, you also get a wireless charger and a panoramic sunroof.

Honda also claims that thanks to “clever packaging” of the hybrid powertrain components, the all-new HR-V can easily accommodate four adults with “maximum comfort.” Moreover, thanks to the central bank’s compact powertrain and layout, Honda retained the “Magic Seats.”

The Japanese automaker has not revealed much about the hybrid e:HEV powertrain in the global HR-V or the pricing. However, we expect prices between €25,000 to €30,000. Stay tuned for more information.
