Hennessey Camaro ZL1 Exorcist Packs 1,000 HP, Sprints to 60 in 2.1 Seconds

Hennessey celebrates its 30th anniversary in style with a limited edition 1000-horsepower Camaro ZL1 Exorcist.

Hennessey sure seems busy these days. Indeed, the Texas-based aftermarket tuner recently unveiled its 405 bhp Velociraptor 400 Bronco and an extreme version of the RAM TRX called Mammoth 1000 TRX. However, what might very well be one of its best creations to date is a modified 1000 hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 called the Exorcist, of which, only 100 will be made. Out of those, 30 units will be special edition 30th Anniversary Camaros, marking the company’s 30 years in the business.

The Camaro ZL1 Exorcist 30th Anniversary will come with special decals and an individually numbered Anniversary Edition chassis plate. Things will remain the same under the hood—although there’s nothing to be sad about here as this modified Camaro ZL1 is an absolute beast.

A stock Camaro ZL 1 already comes with a powerful LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V8 producing a more than healthy 650 horsepower. However, the Camaro ZL1 Exorcist is also fitted with a high flow supercharger upgrade, custom HPE camshaft, an HPE calibration, a high flow air induction system, long-tube stainless steel headers, high flow catalytic converters—and tons more stuff—good enough to crank out a total of 1000 horsepower and 883 lb-ft torque.

All that chassis twisting torque sent to the rear wheels makes the Exorcist a solid dragstrip competitor. Originally built to slay the Dodge Demon, the Exorcist can hit 217 miles per hour, with a 0-60 mph in just 2.1 seconds and a quarter-mile sprint in 9.57 seconds at 147 mph, enough to embarrass most supercars.

“This special edition Exorcist marks 30 years of our company. Since 1991 we have been making fast cars faster and the 1000 hp Camaro ZL 1 Exorcist is no exception. The Exorcist is a benchmark of performance engineering and an epitome of American muscle cars,” commented John Hennessey, founder, and CEO of Hennessey Performance.

The Exorcist is priced at $135,000, quite reasonable for a car fast enough to leave a Lamborghini in the dust. Hennessey also lets customers choose between a coupe or a convertible with either a manual or automatic transmission and adds the company’s trademark 2 Year or 24,000 Mile Limited Warranty.

Customers can book the Camaro ZL1 Exorcist through authorized Chevrolet retailers or by visiting Hennessey’s website.
