Ford Bronco Heritage Edition Brings Back That Sweet 60s Vibe

Ford relives its roots by introducing the Bronco Heritage Edition, a retro-styled range reminiscent of the original 1966 Bronco SUV.

Among the four models, two are limited; the Bronco Sport Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited Edition are already taking orders, but the two- and four-door models are scheduled for later this year. Moreover, the Heritage Limited Edition models are now more exclusive than ever, as the company intends to produce only 1,966 models to pay homage to Bronco’s original debut year.

Standing out is the neat two-tone paint job, seen across all models with an Oxford White-colored roof and grille with red FORD lettering, making it quite nostalgic. In addition, white pinstripe on the sides complemented with white or black wheels (limited edition) also enjoy retro styling. Lastly, a white Bronco motif in a retro font seen on the front fender completes the white work on the vehicle. However, the metal Bronco-script fender badging is only available on the high-end Limited trim.

Meanwhile, for primary colors, customers get to choose from five paint choices for the Heritage Edition, whereas the Sport Heritage Edition is available in seven paint options. Although the Heritage Limited comes in only the Robin’s-Egg Blue color option, Ford promises to offer two additional colors; the ‘Yellowstone Metallic’ inspired by the 1971 Prairie Yellow and available by the end of 2024, and Peak Blue for the 2024 MY.

Other design elements include squared-off fender flairs, standard powder-coated steel bumper, aluminum 17-inch wheels with gloss-black “dog-dish” centers, and Oxford White rings (Bronco Heritage Limited).

As for powertrains, the Bronco Sport Heritage Editions packs a relatively small 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine producing 181 hp. However, buyers can opt for a larger 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo that produces 250 hp with the Sport Limited trim features.

Meanwhile, the larger Bronco Heritage Edition comes with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder producing a healthy 300 hp and an optional 2.7-liter V6 turbo producing 330 hp with the Badlands trim. Depending on the engine option, buyers can choose between a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Bronco Heritage Edition models will come standard with Ford’s off-road-focused Sasquatch package. It includes a High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (H.O.S.S.) 2.0 system to improve off-road performance by increasing ride height and employing 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires.

Inside, the Limited model has leather/vinyl seats and a red accented center console. In contrast, the Bronco Heritage features cloth upholstery on the seats and a standard but classy Oxford White dashboard and floor liners.

Most importantly, since the Ford Bronco Heritage editions are available with many trims, body styles, and engines, even buyers with a lower budget can find a suitable model. Notably, the Bronco Sport Heritage starts at $34,245, while the larger Bronco Heritage costs $44,305. Meanwhile, the Bronco Sport Heritage Limited comes in at $44,655, while the top Bronco Heritage Limited commands a premium price of $66,895.

The Bronco Sport Heritage editions are already available to buy, but the Bronco Heritage editions will arrive at dealerships later this year.
