Fiat introduces the refreshed range of Abarth 595 hot hatches in Europe this year, available in three output levels.
Fiat has also announced four different versions: the base 595, Competizione, Turismo, and Esseesse. Like previously, the 2021 Abarth 595 will be available in both convertible and hatchback variants. Under the bonnet, the “pocket-rocket” features a 1.4-liter producing 143 hp for the base 595 variant, 163 hp in the Turismo, and 177 hp in the Esseesse and Competizione. All models feature a standard five-speed manual, with an optional robotized sequential transmission with shift paddles.
The Turismo model now offers a Brown leather option, while the Competizione variant gets a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels. A 7-inch touch screen UConnect infotainment system is standard across all models, although Android Auto or Apple CarPlay will cost extra. The 2021 595 Abarth also features a 480W BeatsAudio sound system. Another major change is the renaming of the “Sport” mode to “Scorpion,” in-line with the Abarth branding.
All models feature a flat-bottomed steering wheel and daytime running LED lights. Although Fiat didn’t release pricing details about the Abarth 595, we expect it to fall under the €20k mark.
About Fiat 500 Abarth
Abarth is the high-performance variant of the retro-styled 500 city hatchback. The first Fiat 500 Abarth arrived in 2000, featuring a 1.4-liter engine producing 160 hp. It had a top speed of 130 mph, and it went from 0-60 in just 7.2 seconds. The most powerful version of the current Abarth 595 also has a 1.4-liter turbo, although now produces 177 hp, enough for a 0-60mph time of 6.7 seconds.
