Ferrari SF90 XX Configurator: A Brief Escape From Reality

Whether you like the Stradale or Spider, playing with the Ferrari SF90 XX configurator is a fun way to pass the time.

Let’s be honest; most of us can’t afford the ultra-exclusive mere million-dollar Ferrari SF90 XX supercar. And even if money wasn’t an issue, all 1,398 examples were already sold out to the brand’s favorite collectors before it officially launched — typical limited edition Ferraris. But there’s no denying the supercar is a looker, and with over 1,000 ponies from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter v8 hybrid, no wonder deep-pocketed customer quickly submitted their orders.

That said, Ferrari still provided us with the SF90 XX official configurator to play with, meaning we get to experience what it’s like to be rich and tick every option available for the sold-out supercar. Upon arriving on the website, you’ll be greeted with two configuration modes — 2D and 3D. Keep in mind you’ll need at least 3GB of RAM to support the heavy render workload required for 3D mode.

After selecting your favorite mode, you’ll see the launch spec of the vehicle. Numerous color pallets are available, grouped under solid, metallic, historical, and special categories. Our favorite is the special red paintwork, the Rosso Le Mans 2023 Opaco, which suits the mean-looking supercar. Moving to the “bodywork elements” menu, you can choose a carbon fiber exterior component as an option. Moreover, you can pick three colors – Giallo Modela, Flash Orange, and Azzurro Dino – for the hood vents, sensor housing, and wing end plates.

Shoe-wise, the wheel options for the SF90 XX are surprisingly not many. You can only pick the carbon fiber or standard forged wheels with three different finishes – silver, diamond cut, and matte Grigio Corsa. Yet there are five brake caliper colors to choose from: bare aluminum, black, blue, yellow, and Rosso Corsa (Red). And before getting into the interior, the last outside element to configure is the tailpipes finish — standard, titanium, or black ceramic.

Moving inside, the SF90 XX is offered three different bucket seats with plenty of accent color options, but the whole seats will still be dominated in black. Furthermore, you can choose the tone of the Alcantara bits and whether you fancy some carbon fiber paneling.

Overall, like any well-designed configurator, this one is pretty interesting. However, we doubt customers actually buying the million-dollar supercar are limited to the options available on the website; remember that, when it comes to Ferrari, personalization often goes as far as the buyer’s budget. In fact, the Stallion has a program called “tailor-made,” allowing you to pick any color scheme for your upcoming supercar.

Nonetheless, we still recommend you try it out and get creative — it’s a fun way to pass the time and daydream about being lucky enough to configure such an impressive supercar.
