Harley-Davidson has a very rich history of producing excellent cruiser motorcycles; to celebrate, it will launch a new Icons Collection series, starting with the Electra Glide.
This series will contain motorcycles from Harley’s past lineup, reworked and remodeled to revisit Harley Davidson’s designs.
Harley-Davidson has plans to release one or two Icons Collection bikes per year, with production limited to just a single motorcycle. The company has been branching out into the electric motorcycle segment as sales have hit a wall lately, and the Icons Collection is another way to earn a profit.
However, since Icons Collection motorcycles will cost a pretty penny, expect only real enthusiasts to snatch them. And, judging by the first model, a 1969 Electra Glide, there will certainly be a waiting list.
The Electra Glide is the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle to come with the brand’s iconic “batwing” fairing in the front, and the “Revival” model perfectly copies the styling. However, the bike is completely new underneath. It packs a modern Milwaukee Eight 114 V-Twin 1,868cc engine coupled with a 6-Speed Cruise Drive transmission; it produces 97 HP and 118 lb-ft of torque @ 3,230rpm, making it an effortless highway machine. Moreover, the Electra Glide Revival will be available with the brand’s Reflex Defensive Rider systems and Apple CarPlay, although customers can only opt for the original 1969 color scheme.
The Electra Glide Revival will be built on the company’s Touring frame, including 49mm forks with dual bending valve suspension technology with a knob to control the rear shocks. For better long-range drivability, Harley has added electronic cruise control, Halogen headlamp, a tall windshield, and a split stream vent.
Harley Davidson will build only 1,500 samples of the Electra Glide Revival, each with a starting price of $29,199. That is expensive, but then again, the bike is an instant classic and might cost even more in the future. The motorcycle will arrive at dealerships in late April.

I wish it was more affordable. It sure is beautiful. How was the handling compared to the original?
We haven’t tried it yet and doubt ever will – it’s a limited-edition bike 🙂
