Santa Monica, Los Angeles — An extremely rare jet black BMW Alpina Z8 was stolen and smashed against a pole during the Black Lives Matter protests but is now getting restored to its original self.
The damaged warrior is in the renewal process and is showing signs of a great recovery. Black beauty of sorts was eventually found and is now in the paths of total restoration with a few hindrances. It is totally devastating to see such a wonder getting damaged.
Such acts of crime show insensitivity towards others’ properties. So what if it is a luxury car, it was someone’s private property. Someone earned it and purchased it after much consideration and sacrifice. The protest has its place, but violence in the name of democracy is unjustifiable. This vehicle, in the condition it stood, was a clear indication of some hooligan driver being totally looney out of his mind.
With that being said, the first step towards the recovery process took a tense 14 hours to track and assess the condition of the vehicle in order to understand the gravity of the situation.

This analysis is done to ascertain the extent of the damage caused. A precise comprehension of the missing parts, and what needs to be replaced must be done carefully. Here comes the first hindrance: there is a need for aluminum framing and unfortunately, BMW does not authorize independent shops to do that. The only repair center capable of doing this type of work is in New Jersey, which is now closed until September because of the rise in COVID-19 cases.
On one side, the expertise required by the Z8 Alpina is available in the United States, but on the other hand, it is restricted. The genuine repair work is expected to be on hold until then. The lack of available manpower has also raised a flag regarding its execution. But let’s not lose hope just then.
The only optimistic sign concerning the damage is that the interior has not been hampered. Not a scratch can be seen in the visuals. Yet the terrible condition of the exterior doesn’t look good.
Another problem that represents a high amount of risk is the fact that the dolly, which is attached to the Z8 rails and used to move the crashed vehicle around, may further damage the subframe. To tackle this issue, rubber gaskets have been utilized to ensure that the repaired frame can be handled with maximum safety while transporting and reassembling the parts.
Sadly, it’s safe to say that the costs of the repairs may just outweigh the value of the car. However, it’s no doubt that an incredible car such as the Z8 Alpina is well worth the sentimental and monetary investment required to bring it back to life.
