BMW Motorrad Presents Futuristic Definition CE 04 Electric Scooter

BMW Motorrad updates its portfolio with the CE 04, an all-new zero-emission futuristic concept.

BMW’s motorcycle division unveiled its latest addition as a part of its #NEXTGen 2020 multi-vehicle, multi-platform showcase. With redefining the scooter segment in mind, BMW developed the Definition CE 04, an electric scooter featuring a cutting-edge design.

Lately, we have had the opportunity to witness automotive brands coming up with concepts and production-ready Next-Gen vehicles that are everything we imagined to be sci-fi, if not more. Like it or not, the e-revolution is definitely underway.

BMW Motorrad doesn’t plan to fall behind either; its development team has already come up with revolutionary motorcycle concepts such as the “Vision DC Roadster” or the “Vision Motorrad Next 100” with self-balancing features.

BMW Motorrad Definition CE 04 Electric Scooter

Regarding the Definition CE 04, it appears that the scooter design has been inspired by the Concept Link vision BMW showcased in 2017.

The futuristic scooter stands much lower than the brand’s other scooters, thanks to the electric motor instead of the classic ICE engine, claims Alexander Buckan, head of BMW Motorrad’s vehicle design division.

The battery pack is integrated with the electric motor placed flat under the body, offering a better gravity center. This battery setup has given the design team the freedom to include a storage compartment that can be accessed easily from the side, with enough space to store a helmet.

As seen in the pictures, the scooter gets a bulky fascia and an industrial themed rear with minimalistic decals. The seat, however, does not appear to be that comfortable or meant for long rides.

The concept might gain some cool features such as a 10.25-inch screen linked with the rider’s smartphone, letting the rider access various information.

Besides, BMW might also put forward bespoke riding gear and helmets, like the self-illuminated casual cut warm parka jacket and the bespoke helmet with CE 04 initials on it, as shown in the picture set.

As of now, specifications are yet to be disclosed, and the manufacturer hasn’t confirmed if or when we’ll be able to get our hands on one either.

More details to come.
