Lucid surprised the world on Wednesday when, besides revealing its long-awaited Lucid Air, it also previewed its future ‘Project Gravity’ all-electric SUV.
Based on the same architecture as the Air, the SUV, now being developed under the working name of Project Gravity, will take nearly two years to complete.
However, the company has clarified that this SUV isn’t going to be the only automobile under development. It plans to develop more models in the future and aims to build a complete lineup in the years to come.
Lucid Motors has already invested a lot to finally come up with its first electric sedan, Lucid Air, and now that they have developed a platform, they want to explore newer possibilities keeping the basic working architecture. The company has incredibly well-organized plans for the next seven to ten years, and after a successful launch, it wants to work towards creating a place of their own in this increasingly competitive market segment.
As per recent reports, a working prototype of Lucid’s upcoming SUV is already being tested, but its evaluation and complete development will take considerable time, given the fact that these models go through plenty of modifications before eventually becoming production-ready.
Comparing the two vehicles, one can’t help but notice the similarities in terms of design. In the teaser, the SUV can be seen sporting thin LED headlights along with doors featuring hidden handles and two-toned wheels. The prototype teased also features a matching two-toned exterior color scheme as the body’s lower half is darker than the roof and D-pillars.
Lucid Air has garnered a lot of praise so far, and apparently intend to up the ante with its Project Gravity.
