German tuner Posaidon introduced several upgrades for the Mercedes-AMG E63 S, unleashing up to 940 family-friendly ponies.
High-performance station wagons offer plenty of space for passengers and their belongings and are not short on features either. Moreover, with such mighty engines, they are even ready to rival modern sports cars.
That being said, Mercedes-AMG E63 S was redesigned for the 2021 model year, bringing in a more aggressive appearance. And it’s no slouch either. Indeed, its stock 4.0 V8 bi-turbo engine produces 603 HP along with 627 lb-ft of maximum torque, good for a 0-62 mph time in only 3.5 seconds. But, since no power is ever enough power, Posaidon pushed the E63S even more.
Posaidon’s entry-level stage, the RS 830, comes with upgraded turbos, a sports air filter, and downpipes with sport catalytic converters. The tuner also made several software mods to the engine control unit, the transmissions control unit, and the central powertrain controller. The result is 830 HP and 811 lb-ft of max torque, helping the wagon sprint from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds. Next up, the mid-level stage adds more powerful turbos for a total output of 880 HP and 885 lb-ft, further reducing the 0 to 62 mph time by one-tenth of a second.
The ultimate variant, the RS 830+, features modified cylinder heads and valves coupled with a water/methanol injection system, producing a staggering 940 HP and 944 lb-ft of torque. As a result, this luxurious beast can sprint past the 62 mph mark in under 3 seconds. Still, the top speed has been capped at 217 mph for all stages due to limitations in the tire load capacity.
To counterbalance this bonkers ultimate version, Posaidon also offers a more basic option for the E63 S, in the form of a Power Box boosting the output to a more reasonable 707 HP and 737 lb-ft of torque. This package features no changes in the control unit’s software.
